Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA) to join an established Primary Care & Internal Medicine practice in Carmichael, CA. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, comprehensive primary care services to a diverse adult and geriatric patient population.
Working collaboratively alongside supervising physicians and a multidisciplinary clinical team, you will exercise independent clinical judgment to diagnose, treat, and manage complex acute and chronic conditions in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive physical exams, complete health histories, and diagnose/manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Treatment Planning: Formulate individualized care plans, prescribe and manage medications, and order/interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, ECGs).
Patient Management: Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and make timely referrals to specialists, emergency care, or allied health professionals.
EHR & Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation utilizing Sutter Epic.
Patient Education: Educate patients and family members on disease prevention, health promotion, medication adherence, and ongoing care management.
Care Coordination: Collaborate effectively with supervising physicians and healthcare staff to streamline workflow and improve outcomes.
Key Job Details & Schedule
Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday. No regular night or weekend clinic hours.
Patient Volume: Minimum 22 patients per day.
On-Call Duties: Minimal call rotation (averaging 4 calls per month), compensated separately from regular base salary.
Travel: Main practice site is located at Carmichael, CA.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted California Physician Assistant (PA) license.
Certifications: Current NCCPA certification (PA-C), DEA registration, and active BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of practicing NP/PA clinical experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Internal Medicine. (Note: New graduates will not be considered for this role).
Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record systems; Epic experience is required/strongly preferred.
Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency is a strong asset.
