  • No. of Beds in Department: 199 beds
  • EMR System: Cerner
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Credentialing Timeline: 30 days
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Temporary pacemaker removal
  • Chest tube removal
  • IABP removal
  • Aline placement
  • Proficient with endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
  • Recent cardiothoracic surgery experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Arizona PA license or eligibility
  • Board: PA Board Certified or eligible (NCCPA)
  • DEA: DEA registration required
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH
  • Other Qualifications: Graduation from an NCCPA-approved PA program or Master's in Nursing; Acute Care NP program if NP track
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage CVICU and step-down cardiothoracic patients (10-15 per day).
  • Perform surgeries as needed (1-2 per day).
  • Perform temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement.
  • Provide on-call coverage from 3p-7a.
  • Utilize endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) as required.
