Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct nursing care to patients within a correctional healthcare setting. The LVN will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provide safe, professional, and patient-centred care while following facility policies and applicable nursing standards. Responsibilities - Provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare facility. - Monitor patients' health status and report changes to the appropriate healthcare provider. - Administer medications and treatments as ordered and within the scope of practice. - Perform vital signs, health screenings, and routine nursing assessments. - Assist with treatment procedures and other nursing interventions. - Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation. - Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency medical situations. - Communicate patient information effectively with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare professionals. - Follow infection-control, safety, security, and correctional-facility procedures. - Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations. - Provide respectful and professional care while maintaining appropriate boundaries in a correctional environment. - Perform other nursing duties within the LVN's scope of practice as assigned. Requirements: - Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license. - Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program. - Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), if required by the facility. - Previous nursing experience preferred; correctional healthcare experience is a plus. - Strong communication, clinical, and documentation skills. - Ability to work effectively in a structured and security-sensitive environment. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
