Quality Care PromoterWorking under the direct supervision of Leadership the Quality Care Promoter supports both Quality Improvement and dental assisting functions within the dental department. This role includes performing clinical support duties, tracking patient outcomes, and promoting increased access to care. This position ensures efficient operations while upholding CCH's mission to deliver high-quality, integrated care to underserved populations.
Responsibilities include ensuring all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner; collecting patients' medical history and vitals including blood pressure and pulse; assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures for children and adult patients; taking legible digital dental radiographs (x-rays); taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth) and dental procedures; advising patients, parents or guardians concerning diet, hygiene, disease prevention; effectively communicating with other health care providers or community resources to provide comprehensive, all-encompassing care; educating patients/families and the community about oral health related disease and prevention and self-management of acute and chronic dental conditions; teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health including, tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling; performing office management tasks including those necessary for scheduling and confirming patients, entering documentation into patients' records per doctor's request, the authorization of treatment, insurance processing and claims billing; preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment as an infection control measure; documenting, monitoring and following the routine upkeep and measures of the biological monitoring of equipment, waterline maintenance of operatories, OSHA Compliance and biohazardous waste management and other documentation relating to Dental measures; providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery and other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling); assisting in the provision of direct patient care in all dental services including restorative, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics and oral surgery; participating in a multidisciplinary care team, identifying problems, and providing feedback to team members regarding a solution; assisting with the workflow of the clinic as needed including registration and rooming of patients and the completion of intake paperwork; ordering and keeping documentation of dental supply orders, invoices, work orders, etc.; maintaining an organized inventory supply system; ensuring continuous flow of communication with the Chief Dental Officer to enhance the quality of service to our patients; taking part in performance improvement activities such as Dental staff team huddles, quality assurance audits, continuing education and Patient-Centered Dental Home processes; participating in meetings/conferences and continuing education and demonstrating a genuine desire to develop strategies for improved clinic operations and high-level patient care; ensuring certification remains current and valid; assuring patients' rights are being always maintained; attending training and learning opportunities that expand content knowledge and best practices; increasing Dental metrics YOY for the Dental Department and document for reporting; completing and creating new quality improvement reports on the metrics in Dental Department; documenting the Dental Dashboards, including Quality and keep it updated with current outcomes; working on special projects within the scope of dental care as specified by Leadership; and performing other duties as assigned.
Education and experience requirements include a High School diploma or GED equivalent, five (5) years of clinical Dental experience, Certified Dental Assistant highly preferred, data entry experience highly preferred, demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and systems, and knowledge of the techniques of receiving calls and making appointments.
