In-house Counsel Environmental Attorney

In this newly created role, you will help build and shape the environmental legal function for a publicly traded company, supporting operations across the U.S. You will work closely with business and operations leadership to navigate regulatory requirements and strategic permitting. The position offers high visibility and the chance to influence operational and regulatory strategy, with remote work and flexibility for Texas relocation. You will tackle complex, real-world environmental matters and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive compliant, scalable solutions.

• Advise on environmental regulatory compliance (CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA)
• Support permitting and operational strategy across multiple jurisdictions
• Manage environmental litigation and outside counsel
• Partner with operations, engineering, and compliance teams
• Interface with state, federal, and local regulators

• 5+ years of environmental law experience
• Strong background in federal and state environmental regulations
• Experience with solid waste, landfills, transfer stations, or recycling operations preferred
• Practical, business-oriented approach with strong communication skills
