Overview In this role, you will support Chevron's worldwide compliance program by deploying processes, monitoring results, and acting as a knowledge resource for the business. You will partner with the Compliance Team Lead to implement procedures, assess the compliance environment, and coordinate reporting and training activities. You'll administer the STARS system, review due diligence, and strengthen the program through timely corrective actions. This position emphasizes collaboration across business units to reduce risk and drive compliant decision-making.
Responsibilities- Serve as primary point of contact for business personnel needing compliance guidance
- Collaborate with Compliance Team Lead to deploy procedures
- Assess and analyze the compliance environment and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate and assist with local/regional/corporate reporting requirements
- Plan, communicate, follow-up, escalate issues, and conduct quality reviews
- Develop performance metric reports for sensitive transactions
- Review sensitive transaction requests for compliance with policies
- Coordinate reviews with internal and external counsel as needed
- Administer Sensitive Transaction Approval and Reporting System (STARS) within delegated authority
- Review due diligence reports to assess third-party risks
- Manage contract with third-party due diligence provider (Kroll) including invoice review
- Conduct required training
- Attend quarterly Compliance Conference Calls and Sharing Forums
Key requirements- Undergraduate Degree in Accountancy, Business, or Law
- Postgraduate professional designation (e.g., CPA, Chartered Accountant, MBA)
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role or in professional services audit/consultancy (Big 4)
- Compliance experience
- Working knowledge of Anticorruption Laws, International Trade & U.S. Antiboycott Laws and Regulations, Competition Law and Due Diligence process
- Ability to interpret and apply concepts and controls to business transactions
- Ability to identify issues and provide timely counsel to business partners
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities across all management levels
- Ability to synthesize complex topics and present to diverse audiences
- Active listening and collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams
- Knowledge of STARS or equivalent regulatory reporting systems
- Due diligence processes and risk assessment
- Experience with third-party risk management and vendor reviews
