Overview As a Senior Pipeline Construction Manager, you will lead construction execution for pipeline and related facilities across the EPCM lifecycle, coordinating engineering, project management, and field teams. You'll support projects in remote and demanding environments, delivering safe, quality-driven construction outcomes. Your role blends hands-on leadership with technical guidance to drive project success from feasibility through closeout. This position offers impactful work on long-distance, heavy civil pipeline projects within a growing Applied Solutions team.

Responsibilities- Provide senior construction leadership and advisory on pipeline, facilities, mining, energy, and industrial projects
- Lead or support construction execution planning from development to commissioning and closeout
- Develop construction execution plans, staffing, logistics, contracting approaches, and schedules
- Support routing, siting, and feasibility studies, considering ROW, access, terrain, and environmental constraints
- Provide constructability input during FEED and detailed design
- Oversee construction of oil & gas, slurry, water, and return-water pipelines and associated facilities
- Lead specialized construction activities (HDD, tunneling, crossings, hydrostatic testing, welding, coating, NDE, QA)
- Review engineering deliverables for completeness and constructability, and manage contractor interfaces
- Manage procurement of contractors and field resources, including bid packages and award recommendations
- Monitor contractor performance across safety, quality, cost, schedule, and productivity
- Coordinate interfaces among owners, engineering teams, vendors, regulators, and operations
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies early; support project controls and reporting to executives
- Promote health, safety, environmental, and quality culture and ensure compliance
- Support business development, proposals, estimating, and client engagement
- Mentor construction personnel and contribute to WSP's pipeline construction management capability growth
- Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and policies; execute other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 12 years' progressive experience in pipeline/construction/field-services/project management
- Proven leadership in complex pipeline construction in senior roles
- Experience across EPC/EPCM lifecycle phases (development, estimating, execution, commissioning, closeout)
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, routing, right-of-way, logistics, QA, and contractor oversight
- Experience with cross-country pipelines and associated infrastructure (stations, tanks, etc.)
- Ability to develop estimates, schedules, execution plans, bid packages, and procedures
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with owners, engineers, vendors, regulators, and field staff
- Strong knowledge of safety, environmental compliance, QA, welding, coating, testing, and documentation
- Working knowledge of API, ASME, AWS, NACE/AMPP, DOT, FERC standards or owner/jurisdictional requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to clients and leadership
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound field decisions
