Senior Benefits and Wellness Manager

Job description

Overview

In this role you will lead the strategy, design, administration, and compliance for Consigli's benefit programs. You will drive new health and welfare initiatives to foster a wellness culture while controlling costs. You'll collaborate with the senior HR team to craft annual benefits packages, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure regulatory compliance. This is a dynamic environment where your strategic focus on benefits design and cost management enables attracting and retaining talent.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and welfare initiatives in collaboration with the business
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of medical, dental, disability, life insurance, and related plans
  • Lead the annual benefits program package design and present recommendations to senior management
  • Manage fiduciary obligations and respond to ERISA benefit claims and inquiries
  • Supervise vendors for plan administration and ensure compliance with plan documents and laws
  • Coordinate with third-party enrollment provider for new plan year and conduct system testing
  • Lead open enrollment processes and communications, including Summary Plan Descriptions
  • Create and distribute employee benefits communications during and outside Open Enrollment
  • Monitor costs and effectiveness of programs to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Serve as primary contact for vendor relationships
Key requirements
  • 6+ years in Benefits/HR, with at least 3 years managing a benefits function or in a benefits-focused firm
  • Knowledgeable in health and retirement benefits design, regulatory environment, wellness initiatives, and market trends
  • Proven ability to manage external vendors and contracts (RFPs)
  • Ability to design, measure, and monitor benefits and wellness programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills for handling sensitive information and escalation resolution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and excellent presentation skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment
