Overview

In this Senior Project Manager role, you lead healthcare construction projects from discovery through turnover, focusing on patient safety and continuity in occupied facilities. You'll steer complex programs (hospitals, ambulatory facilities, medical offices) within HITT's Healthcare group, coordinating safety, codes, and commissioning while balancing schedule, cost, and quality. You drive cross-functional collaboration with clinical stakeholders and design teams to deliver safe, compliant, and high-impact spaces. This is a hands-on leadership role with a mission to support healthcare delivery through well-executed projects.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain safety program adherence across subcontractors in occupied healthcare spaces and infection-control measures
  • Ensure compliance with infection-control requirements, healthcare codes, and facility protocols
  • Negotiate contracts and scope related to phased work, shutdowns, and commissioning/turnover
  • Monitor project progress with schedules, inspections, and turnover activities
  • Verify Quality Control Plan against drawings, specs, submittals, tests, and manufacturer instructions
  • Assist staff in resolving subcontractor scope problems (medical gas, controls, nurse call, low-voltage, healthcare equipment)
  • Assign and evaluate field personnel within project teams and the company
  • Identify and negotiate time extensions when justified
  • Acquire new healthcare clients and maintain existing relationships
  • Lead preconstruction/RFP efforts considering healthcare requirements like infection control and shutdown planning
  • Develop and execute detailed method-of-procedure plans for high-risk utility shutdowns and tie-ins
  • Collaborate with project team, facility reps, and clinical stakeholders to anticipate issues
  • Coordinate with design teams, authorities, and inspectors to resolve field/inspection issues
  • Delegate tasks to ensure smooth project execution
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor; healthcare project experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred; in lieu of degree, additional experience accepted
  • Has successfully acquired and/or secured at least one new client
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in occupied healthcare environments
