Overview

In this role you lead a cross-team engineering excellence program for NAS, targeting five domains (infrastructure efficiency, operational excellence, cross-cutting mandates, builder enablement, privacy). You balance central mandates with NAS priorities, driving measurable goals and a single, unified scorecard for leadership. You operate in a high-visibility, ambiguous space, building consensus without direct authority while coordinating senior technical owners. This role shapes how NAS negotiates scope, tracks risk, and reports progress to executives.

Responsibilities
  • Define and run the end-to-end engineering excellence program across five domains with a flagship goal per domain and a unified scorecard for NAS leadership
  • Serve as NAS's single point of contact to central organizations (SDO, S-Team, Infosec, Amazon Privacy Services) and negotiate scope/timelines for in-year mandates
  • Drive cross-organizational delivery by leading domain owners and coordinating with multiple organizations without direct authority
  • Decompose complex excellence surface into measurable bars and invent mechanisms to advance them, in collaboration with Principal/Senior Principal Engineers
  • Own the monthly in-person review with NAS technical leaders and publish a leadership update covering status, risks, and decisions across all domains
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management with software engineering teams
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Ability to influence without formal authority
  • Effective communication and executive storytelling
  • Technical program management with software engineering
  • Defining KPIs/SLAs and dashboards for large-scale programs
  • Risk management and critical-path planning
