Overview In this role you will design satellite bus structures, collaborating across hardware development teams to deliver robust, producible mechanical solutions. You will translate requirements into detailed designs, release engineering work products, and support program goals from concept to delivery. You'll work with cross-functional teams including ATLO, payload, and manufacturing to meet schedules and ensure quality. This role offers impact in space systems engineering within a mission-focused, collaborative environment. You will contribute to advanced space hardware while advancing your technical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities- Independently develop mechanical design solutions using 3D models and large assemblies, culminating in release-ready engineering work products.
- Review requirements from stress, dynamics, thermal, manufacturing, and other domains to ensure proper design flow-down.
- Collaborate with peers, ATLO, payload, configuration management, and manufacturing to align with program requirements and schedules.
- Contribute to program success by delivering accurate, affordable, and producible designs.
Key requirements- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Mechanical design knowledge with interpretation of engineering drawings
- Experience with CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, I-DEAS) and model-based product definition
- Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals (structures, mechanisms, materials, analysis)
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret clearance
