Assistant Project Manager, Construction

Overview

In this role you support on construction projects at assigned properties, coordinating with cross-functional teams to align design, budget, schedule, and quality. You'll gain exposure to multiple delivery methods and help drive project solutions that meet corporate goals. This position offers growth through hands-on budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination under seasoned Project Managers. Responsibilities
  • Support Project Manager in preconstruction and construction activities on one or more projects
  • Track project solutions against design, budget, schedule, quality, and customer service targets
  • Assist in development of construction budgets and schedules
  • Prepare development schedules, site logistics/phasing plans, and RFPs
  • Gain exposure to multiple construction delivery methods (lump sum, GMP, design/build, cost plus)
  • Assist in constructability reviews and vendor contract administration
  • Monitor project budgets and flag variances
  • Maintain document control and assist with change management
  • Review and verify change orders for accuracy
  • Prepare draft monthly progress reports for PM review and AVP/VP
  • Coordinate with consultants and construction managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred; exceptional candidates without degree may be considered
  • 1-4 years' experience supporting construction project management, retail preferred
  • Experience with general contractor, retail developer, or owner's representative organization preferred
