Overview

In this role you lead and oversee critical data center projects within AWS's CPI team, driving multi-discipline coordination across electrical, mechanical, controls, and architecture. You contribute to design, build, and operation initiatives that optimize space, power, and cooling in global data centers. You'll work with cross-functional partners to translate data into actionable improvements and ensure delivery aligns with AWS goals for safety, security, and cost efficiency. You will shape innovative solutions to operational challenges and own projects from inception to completion. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence the backbone of AWS infrastructure and support scalable clouds

Responsibilities
  • Oversee project direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion across electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural disciplines
  • Review and assess all disciplines for performance, identify improvement areas, and act on data from multiple teams
  • Design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges
  • Lead projects related to electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage trade-offs and ensure alignment with company strategy
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of construction or project management experience
  • 5+ years managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure with 24/7 backup systems or equivalent settings
  • 5+ years of on-site construction trades (mechanical, electrical, general)
  • Vendor management experience
  • Ability to discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic ideas with stakeholders
  • Preferred: Bachelor's in engineering, PM, construction management or a similar technical focus
  • Preferred: 5+ years of electrical or mechanical or data center engineering experience
