Overview In this role you will support a research laboratory focused on infectious disease transmission and species divergence. You will work with a team to design, run, and interpret experiments, while developing new methods and maintaining rigorous lab records. You will help keep facilities and equipment organized and safe, and may guide junior staff or students. Responsibilities- Plan, design, and conduct laboratory experiments and assist with data analysis
- Maintain comprehensive lab records (experiments, protocols, inventory, purchasing)
- Support lab operations by keeping facilities and equipment clean and functional
- Coordinate procurement and distribution of supplies with PI approval
- Safeguard research materials; address equipment issues and disruptions
- Provide guidance and support to research personnel and students
- Occasional duties: filing lab-related paperwork
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in one of the sciences, or equivalent combination of job-related experience and college education
- Experience substitution for education on a year-for-year basis
- Experience in laboratory techniques (preferred)
- Experience with molecular biology and protein biochemistry methods (preferred)
- B.A. or B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry (preferred)
