Overview As a Research Engineer on the AWS Agentic AI team, you will lead research and development in generative AI and agentic AI to enable intelligent agents that perform complex reasoning and automate multi-step workflows. You will help scale agentic AI systems to millions of users, bridging science and engineering to bring concepts into production. This role blends technical leadership with hands-on innovation and close collaboration with engineering teams. You will shape the science-to-production paradigm and contribute to building a production-ready enterprise AI assistant for AWS customers.

Responsibilities- Define and lead development of tools that accelerate experimentation and delivery of AI research
- Guide science team implementations to explore proof-of-concepts and decide on final science strategy
- Develop scalable tooling for experiment frameworks, low-latency testing, data collection/annotation/evaluation apps
- Bridge gaps between science and engineering pipelines, enabling interchangeable components and faster science-to-production
- Contribute to a fast, integrated science-to-production workflow
Key requirements- 5+ years of non-internship software development experience
- 5+ years of programming in at least one language
- 5+ years of design or architecture leadership for new or existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leadership
