Medical Support Assistant Cheyenne, WYJamison Professional Services, Inc. ("Jamison") is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Medical Support Assistant. Job Title: Medical Support Assistant Cheyenne, WY This is a 100% remote position for candidates residing within 50 miles of an eligible VISN 19 VA Medical Center.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: As a Medical Support Assistant, you will assist Veterans by scheduling appointments, coordinating community care referrals, maintaining patient information, and providing outstanding customer service while supporting VA healthcare operations Hourly Rate: $19.06 + Benefits
Responsibilities- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments in accordance with VA policies.
- Process Community Care referrals using VA systems.
- Maintain accurate patient demographic information.
- Coordinate care with community healthcare providers.
- Answer incoming calls professionally and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond to patient and provider inquiries regarding services.
- Document information accurately within VA electronic health record systems.
- Monitor consults and appointment status to ensure timely completion.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and VA applications daily.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect sensitive patient information.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- High School Diploma or GED
- Must reside in the United States
- Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Typing speed of 50+ words per minute
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration
- Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
- Experience in a call center or healthcare customer service environment
- Preferred: Familiarity with VA systems such as CPRS, VistA, HSRM, PPMS, CTM, or similar healthcare applications is highly desirable.
Location: Remote Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am 4:30pm, excluding federal holidays. Clearance Level Required: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks, in accordance with applicable law.
