We are seeking a skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 120-day assignment in Indiana. Our client needs coverage for 12-hour shifts, primarily focusing on call and in-house responsibilities. This vital role involves managing obstetrical and gynecological patients, including emergency department consultations, labor and delivery, admissions, and comprehensive inpatient care, with the potential for additional clinic coverage.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage obstetrical patients, gynecologic patients, Emergency Department consultations, labor and delivery, admissions, and inpatient care.
- Provide coverage for low risk and high risk pregnancies.
- Perform FHR interpretation, including NST/CST/FSE.
- Conduct Amniocentesis.
- Perform routine deliveries, including vaginal, low forceps, and decision-making for c-section.
- Manage complicated deliveries, including c-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, and repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations.
- Handle office and minor gynecology procedures such as IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP.
- Perform open and laparoscopic diagnostic or minor gynecological surgeries, including tubal ligation, LOAs, and chronal tubation.
- Execute operative and major gynecological surgeries, including ectopic pregnancy management, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOAs.

- Call coverage: Primary need will be call or in-house coverage.
- Patients per shift: Average of 10 patients per shift.
- Admissions per shift: Approximately 5 admissions per shift, largely based on delivery volume.
- Staffing Mix: Typically one midwife is on call with the physician.
