Overview

In this Laboratory Service Engineer role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate state-of-the-art equipment in Lam's applications lab, supporting the development and deployment of next-generation semiconductor tools. You will work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to install prototypes and document procedures, contributing to the success of Lam's etch and deposition solutions. The position blends hands-on maintenance with cross-functional collaboration to enable reliable technology demonstrations and customer impact. This role offers hands-on problem solving in a fast-moving, safety-conscious environment with a strong emphasis on documentation and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations on equipment in an R&D environment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and vacuum systems
  • Ensure safe handling of hazardous gases and liquids using PPE
  • Collaborate with process development, hardware, and software engineering on R&D activities and demos
  • Install and support prototype equipment, developing procedures and documentation
  • Maintain alignment of priorities across tasks with clear, proactive communication
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 5+ years of experience or Associate degree in a technical field with 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent work experience
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electro-mechanical, fluidic, and vacuum systems
  • Proficiency with hand tools and electronic test equipment for maintenance and repair
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with appropriate PPE
  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment or Lam products is a plus
