Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical

Overview

In this role you help design and supervise mechanical systems for mission-critical data centers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet safety and performance standards. You will guide clients on feasible mechanical solutions, monitor field installations, and support project execution from criteria development to design reviews. This position offers growth in a globally integrated Mission Critical team and exposure to large-scale EPC projects. You will shape design approaches and drive project outcomes that sustain critical operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical systems/equipment to ensure a safe, functional workplace
  • Advise clients on mechanical systems meeting needs and codes
  • Monitor installation to ensure design and safety compliance
  • Develop design criteria for air and water side mechanical systems
  • Review equipment and system designs/specifications
  • Develop concept studies and design
  • Assist in developing project management skills and support PMs
  • Facilitate contract administration for RFIs, submittals, change management and claims
  • Assist in project reporting on status, risks, schedule and cost
  • Enforce standards and practices
Key requirements
  • ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience
  • Or ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology with FE and 7+ years
  • Or MS in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years
  • EPC project experience preferred
  • Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE)
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks
  • Ability to lead execution and resolve issues in a team
  • Critical thinking, methodical and analytical problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, collaboration and organization
  • Ability to travel
