Overview As a Senior Cost Estimator, you will develop and defend cost estimates for federal facility repairs in Kauai, guiding decisions on emergency repairs, building envelopes, and infrastructure restoration. You'll work with engineers, schedulers, and field teams to assess scope, access, and logistics, providing a defensible basis for procurement and changes as work progresses. This role combines field data with evolving site conditions to quantify cost impacts and support project leadership. You will be onsite in Kauai with per diem options as appropriate.

Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of conceptual, detailed, and independent cost estimates for facility and infrastructure repairs
- Develop quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment assumptions, unit pricing, and subcontractor pricing analyses
- Assess scope, schedule, access, logistics, escalation, and contingency impacts on project cost
- Review drawings, field reports, repair narratives, and contractor proposals for cost completeness
- Document estimate bases, assumptions, exclusions, risks, and changes between estimate versions
- Coordinate with engineers, construction managers, schedulers, and subcontractors to validate scope and pricing
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of developing construction cost estimates for complex facility or infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check
- US Citizenship required
- Experience with cost estimating software
- Experience with recognized cost databases
