Overview In this role you own and optimize the SharePoint information architecture to support scalable, enterprise-wide content management. You will work as a subject matter expert on architecture, metadata, taxonomy, and lifecycle governance, collaborating with stakeholders to improve content discoverability and governance. You design scalable site structures, standard provisioning, and classification processes, and you apply automation to document workflows. This position offers impact across the organization by enhancing search, taxonomy, and AI-enabled content capabilities.
Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Own the SharePoint information architecture including site structures, content types, column schemas, libraries, and navigation
- Serve as the SME for SharePoint architecture and development patterns (SPFx, CSOM, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API)
- Define and maintain standards for site provisioning, structure, and content organization
- Design and manage templated site provisioning processes with proper metadata and taxonomy
- Develop and optimize document classification using rules-based tagging, filename/path analysis, and Microsoft classification capabilities
- Maintain documentation, standards, procedures, and governance related to SharePoint architecture, taxonomy, classification, and lifecycle management
Key requirements- 5+ years of experience in SharePoint architecture, information architecture, and enterprise content management
- Expert-level experience with SharePoint Online including site architecture, content types, column schemas, libraries, and information structures
- Experience configuring and optimizing SharePoint Search (refiners, search verticals, query rules, PnP Search)
- SharePoint migration/consolidation/re-architecture using tools like ShareGate or Metalogix
- Experience preparing enterprise content for AI-powered search, semantic indexing, Copilot, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) use cases
