Overview As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will lead construction project management for new builds and capital projects, owning scope, quality, schedule and budget. You'll work with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams to deliver high-performance, cost-efficient data centers. On-site daily, you'll manage contractors, drive cost and schedule, and ensure safety and compliance. This role offers the impact of shaping industry leading, energy efficient data centers and contributing to AWS's mission of reliable cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities- Interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases
- Negotiate with contractors and evaluate bids/proposals
- Create project scope and RFPs
- Perform financial analysis of construction
- Manage projects to increase data center resiliency
- Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
- Manage construction documents (submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoicing)
- Ensure construction quality control and report key metrics
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of equipment failures
- Be a leader within the group and with internal/external teams
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience taking design concepts through development to deployment or mass production
- Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows OS
- Knowledge of power management and power monitoring systems
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or similar critical infrastructure
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
