Knowledge Management Attorney (Insurance + IP)

Overview

As Knowledge Management Attorney, you will shape and steward the firm's KM resources for Insurance + IP groups, developing and refining content, precedents, and training to support practice needs. You will lead KM initiatives, promote technology adoption, and collaborate with Practice Management and AI partners to enhance efficiency and client service. The role focuses on building scalable knowledge solutions, staying ahead of market and legal tech trends, and driving continuous improvement. This is a hands-on opportunity to impact how attorneys access and apply knowledge at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Embed KM expert for assigned practice groups and lead their knowledge strategies
  • Own curation of knowledge artifacts in the KM database
  • Develop, implement, and assess KM strategies and systems for the groups
  • Create and maintain model documents, forms, precedents, and drafting guidance
  • Capture feedback to improve KM tools and processes, including DMS and intranet
  • Provide legal, market and practical insights by tracking trends and tech developments
  • Identify gaps and curate targeted attorney contributions
  • Plan and execute KM innovation projects with ROI tracking
  • Partner to evaluate and implement new KM technologies
  • Champion technology adoption and change management across the firm
  • Collaborate to identify knowledge and training needs with KM/AI and Practice Management
  • Assist lateral onboarding with KM goals and resources
  • Conduct succession planning and document key processes and templates
  • Coordinate with Administrative Departments on KM initiatives
  • Develop training materials and online resources for continuous learning
  • Demonstrate KM tools via live sessions, pilots, and success stories
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and iterate improvements
  • Maintain confidentiality of firm, attorney, and client information
Key requirements
  • Proven ability to develop, test, and deliver technology-driven tools and initiatives
  • Experience using generative AI tools with validation-focused approach
  • Technical expertise on how AI systems are built and evaluated
  • Discretion with confidential information
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience on cross-functional teams and driving organizational change
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning in KM, tech, and innovation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an innovative mindset
  • Working knowledge of document management systems such as iManage
