Overview In this role you will lead mechanical design for data centers within the Data Center and Mission Critical team, shaping heat rejection, HVAC strategies, and energy performance for high-profile facilities. You will partner with electrical and other trades to deliver reliable, scalable systems that meet uptime and efficiency goals. The work combines hands-on design, CFD-driven optimization, and client-facing collaboration on global projects. Responsibilities- Design heat rejection and HVAC systems for data centers, including cooling strategies, redundancy, and energy efficiency
- Choose cooling systems (air/water-side, CRAHs, DX, chilled water, in-row, containment) based on data center needs
- Perform internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow and system interactions; recommend design changes
- Incorporate redundancy, fault tolerance, and monitoring for continuous operation
- Conduct heat load calculations and capacity planning for IT and facility spaces
- Integrate energy-efficient design techniques (economizers, VSDs, energy recovery) and optimize airflow
- Ensure air quality, filtration, humidity control, and contaminant mitigation in data environments
- Coordinate with electrical and other trades to align HVAC with UPS, fire suppression, and critical infrastructure
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
