Overview In this role you own the abrasives product category, guiding strategic development and commercialization to drive growth and profitability. You will collaborate with operations, engineering, sourcing, sales, and marketing to optimize performance and deliver industry-leading solutions for professional users. You will lead portfolio strategy, new product development, and launches while seeking opportunities to elevate margins and competitiveness. Responsibilities- Lead category strategy and product development for abrasives, guiding a cross-functional team
- Prioritize and plan new product development aligned with company objectives and resources
- Maintain deep product knowledge and monitor market trends through events and field interactions
- Serve as the go-to for product issue resolution and departmental improvement initiatives
- Drive early-stage NPD activities including research, analysis, and ensuring customer input
- Manage portfolios with positioning, forecasting, and updates
- Develop launch programs, sales materials, and training with Brand and Channel teams
- Participate in customer presentations, trade shows, and industry events
- Mentor junior staff in project management and cross-functional teamwork
- Lead market research plans and report findings to senior management
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet timelines and objectives
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related area
- 5-10 years in Marketing/Sales roles
- Experience managing complex trade-offs through new product development
- Experience with stage-gate project processes
- Strong analytic, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Availability for occasional early morning or evening meetings with global partners
- Willingness to travel 25-30%
