Overview As Project Engineering Manager, you drive large-scale, complex projects in the pork and packaged meat sector, shaping efficient production and reducing waste. You will lead a team of engineers and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and plant personnel to design, implement, and validate innovative solutions. Responsibilities- Develop engineering designs, specs, and cost estimates; perform feasibility and economic analyses
- Oversee design implementation, vendor/contractor management, and schedule coordination
- Prepare proposals, define scope, and report project status to management
- Manage contract administration and bid packages; ensure installations meet specs and budgets
- Lead, coach, and develop engineering staff; foster a collaborative work environment
- Ensure compliance with standards and codes; validate field work and produce as-built drawings
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of relevant experience
- 2+ years in a leadership role including team development and management
- Strong application of engineering principles to design and operations issues
- Knowledge of project scheduling, contract administration, and national codes and standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written/oral communication, organizational planning, and teamwork
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
