Overview In this role, you lead development of a scalable data platform within Schwab Technology Services, combining strong software engineering with AI-assisted practices. You will drive the modernization of the Fundamental Data Master and deliver APIs, data solutions, and enterprise applications. You'll work with cross-functional partners to raise engineering excellence, developer productivity, and resilience at scale. Responsibilities- Modernize a mission-critical data platform powering Schwab's investment ecosystem
- Design and deliver scalable applications, APIs, and data solutions
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product partners, and business stakeholders
- Promote modern engineering practices, Generative AI capabilities, and agentic workflows
- Improve quality, delivery speed, and operational resilience across products
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; 8+ years in software engineering
- Experience across full SDLC in Agile environments
- Strong Java, Spring Boot/Spring Batch, Oracle, Linux, Angular, and cloud platforms
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices; distributed architectures
- Analytical problem solving and production support skills
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
- CI/CD, automated testing, source control, and modern DevOps practices
