Overview

As Manager Manufacturing Process Engineering in Abbott Point of Care, you will lead a team to design, develop, and validate rapid diagnostic solutions. You enable cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective products. You shape product roadmaps by spotting new technologies and customer needs, driving innovation and execution from concept to commercialization. Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for designing, developing, and testing new point-of-care diagnostic solutions.
  • Guide product development activities to ensure designs are reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective while aligning with customer and business needs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and senior leadership) to deliver projects successfully.
  • Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and unmet customer needs to shape future product innovation.
  • Contribute to business strategies and product roadmaps supporting growth and innovation goals for Point of Care.
  • Solve complex technical and business challenges balancing product performance, customer experience, timelines, and costs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Stay current on advancements in diagnostics, healthcare technology, and point-of-care testing to keep Abbott at the industry forefront.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant product development, engineering, scientific, or technical leadership experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Collaborative across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in product development and engineering leadership
  • Knowledge of medical device or regulatory device environments
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability and cost optimization
