Overview In this role you will oversee key accounting processes to ensure accurate financial records and timely close. You will partner with cross-functional teams to sustain a strong control environment while handling high-volume data and complex transactions. You will drive process improvements and support audits, reporting to senior finance leadership. Responsibilities- Execute components of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with journal entries and accruals
- Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Maintain internal controls and ensure policy compliance; escalate issues as needed
- Apply U.S. GAAP to routine and non-routine transactions; document conclusions
- Support internal and external audits with documentation and inquiries
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and standardize recurring activities
- Perform general ledger activities including journal entries, account maintenance, and transaction analysis
- Support specialized accounting areas (ad-supported streaming, advertising revenue, partnerships, marketing spend, content capitalization and amortization, consumer promotions, gift card liabilities); assist with ASC 606 assessments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrity
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of financial data feeding the general ledger
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance
- Active CPA license
- 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in a publicly traded company or controllership/operational accounting environment preferred
- Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to apply it to complex transactions
- Experience with Netsuite ERP; advanced Excel; balance sheet reconciliations and close management
- Data skills including experience with large datasets; SQL preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
