Overview In this role you lead Pastoral Care Services to support compassionate, values-based care within Baptist Health South Florida. You will act as worship leader, counselor, advocate-mediator, educator and spiritual guide, ensuring alignment with denominational endorsement and hospital mission. You'll shape programming, policies and procedures, while overseeing budget, personnel, and charitable initiatives. You will work closely with ethics committees and hospital leadership to uphold high ethical standards and spiritual care excellence. Responsibilities- Hire, supervise, evaluate and discharge department personnel including chaplains, interns, clerical staff and volunteers
- Lead development and implementation of programming, policies and procedures for the department
- Manage annual budget and oversee related financial operations and charitable funds
- Serve on hospital Ethics Committee and System Ethics Committee
- Maintain denominational endorsement for ministry in healthcare settings
- Provide worship leadership, counseling and spiritual guidance aligned with the organization's philosophy and values
Key requirements- Master in Divinity or equivalent theological degree
- Board Certified Chaplain
- Ministry ordination in good standing
- Up-to-date denominational endorsement for healthcare ministry
- Four units of clinical pastoral education or equivalent training
- Leadership and management experience in a healthcare chaplaincy program
- Board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains or eligibility within one year of employment
