Overview In this role you will convert early-stage designs into producible hardware that meets warfighter needs, moving products from development to low-rate and full-rate production. You will work with design, engineering, and production teams to minimize risk and schedule impact while leading early-production readiness and real-time feedback during assembly and flight-test preparation. You'll develop and maintain manufacturing instructions and readiness artifacts, and deliver cost-reduction analyses to program leadership. This is a high-visibility position shaping next-generation defense systems with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities- Partner with design, engineering, and production to transition new products and processes into manufacturing
- Lead early-production readiness activities and provide real-time feedback during assembly and flight-test preparation
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and Manufacturing Readiness Level artifacts
- Conduct cost-reduction and affordability analyses and present to Integrated Product Team meetings
- Mentor junior engineering staff and drive cross-functional communication with program stakeholders
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing, Systems, or related)
- Manufacturing-engineering experience in aerospace/defense with hands-on shop-floor work
- Experience authoring, revising, and maintaining work instructions and manufacturing plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present technical data to non-technical audiences and influence senior leaders
- Proven DFM/DFC experience and strong knowledge of machining, assembly, electrical integration, and process development
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build cross-functional teams, and deliver results in fast-paced settings
- Willingness to travel to LM sites, supplier facilities, and other LM locations ( 50% of time)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; must be a US citizen
