Overview In this role you drive cost control and value for complex commercial construction projects, partnering with owners, designers and contractors to deliver accurate cost reporting and strong project outcomes. You will lead cost planning and estimation while mentoring the team and maintaining client relationships. Responsibilities- Lead estimating and cost planning across projects, developing, reviewing and presenting cost plans
- Serve as the primary daily client interface, coordinating with owners, designers and contractors and delivering clear cost reporting
- Manage cost control processes including valuations, change orders, contingency tracking, and cost variance analysis
- Coordinate and validate all cost information sources and contribute to procurement strategies, value engineering and design optioneering
- Support and lead procurement activities, including bid package prep, contractor negotiations and tender reporting
- Produce monthly cost reports, funding updates and benchmarking data; ensure timely closeout of final accounts and cost record maintenance
- Implement cost auditing, validation, and change control across project phases
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to overall team performance and client service
- Manage financial aspects of commissions, including margin tracking and fee forecasting; adhere to internal systems and delivery methodologies
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role where applicable
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying, or project controls in construction
- Experience delivering cost management services on medium to large-scale construction projects, ideally in commercial real estate environments
- Strong understanding of estimating, cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and change management
- Construction consultancy experience preferred
- Familiarity with industry tools, cost estimating platforms, and financial reporting systems
- RICS accreditation or working towards certification preferred
