Overview In this role you will support federal facility assessment and hurricane recovery in Kauai by preparing takeoffs and cost estimates for repair scenarios. You'll work with senior estimators, managers, and schedulers to compare options and update estimates as scopes evolve, with an onsite presence and per diem when applicable. You help price practical responses that restore buildings, utilities, and infrastructure, contributing to resilient, on-the-ground recovery efforts. This position offers a direct impact on critical infrastructure and disaster response efforts at a national level.

Responsibilities- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for building, utility, and infrastructure repair scopes
- Collect and evaluate vendor quotes, subcontractor pricing, and historical cost information
- Review drawings, field assessments, specifications, and scope narratives to identify estimate requirements
- Document assumptions, exclusions, unit rates, and changes to estimate versions
- Support cost comparisons, change evaluations, and reconciliation of contractor proposals
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and scheduling teams to align estimate assumptions
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field
- 4+ years of construction cost estimating for facilities, utilities, or infrastructure or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- A valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check
