Overview In this role you join the staff counsel team to manage a large volume of New Jersey and New York PIP defense matters. You will guide litigation strategy, coordinate with Claims, and drive efficient case handling in Forthright, AAA, and court settings. You will work both independently and with colleagues to prepare submissions, take depositions, and supervise arbitration proceedings and trials. This position offers exposure to a broad No-Fault practice and a chance to impact outcomes in a high-volume environment. You will leverage technology and data to maintain case integrity and support the claims team in complex exposures.

Responsibilities- Manage a high-volume caseload (350+ cases) in NJ and NY PIP matters.
- Conduct depositions and Examinations Under Oath; attend arbitrations, conferences, motions, and trials.
- Prepare arbitration submissions for Forthright and AAA and file them.
- Input and maintain case data in the case management system ensuring data integrity.
- Provide legal research and strategic direction to Claims on complex/exposure-heavy cases.
- Handle special projects as needed.
Key requirements- At least five years of relevant PIP experience.
- Fully licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
- New York Bar Admission is a plus but not required.
- Ability to analyze complex litigation and develop action plans addressing legal issues and defenses.
- Strong knowledge of NJ Rules of Evidence and Civil Procedure, and NJ/NY No-Fault Arbitration rules.
- Solid understanding of Insurance Law (coverage, UM/UIM, No-Fault).
- Independent decision-maker capable of managing files and communicating decisions to relevant parties.
- Ability to work in a paperless environment and manage tasks virtually and in person.
