Overview As Cost Accountant, you will drive profitability through robust cost analysis and manufacturing cost control. You will partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering and Procurement to influence cost-driven decisions and improve inventory management. You'll own standard costing, BOM/Routing data maintenance, and project profitability analysis, shaping the financial backbone of a plant in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers meaningful impact by delivering actionable insights and supporting continuous improvement within a global industrial leader.
Responsibilities- Manage standard cost updates and maintain BOM and routing data for accurate costing and inventory valuation
- Provide detailed inventory analysis and insights to senior management
- Produce detailed inventory reporting including obsolescence and cycle count accuracy
- Conduct financial analysis on large projects, including variance and profitability assessment
- Maintain and improve financial data/databases for timely information
- Support procurement with analytical reports to enable cost-efficient purchasing and supply chain efficiency
- Analyze productivity metrics across multiple supply sites
- Ensure compliance with policies and support audits
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses and projects as requested by the Plant Controller
Key requirements- Manufacturing experience required, preference for engineered-to-order (ETO) environments
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, procurement, and supply chain
- Strong understanding of BOMs, routings, labor reporting, standard costing, and overhead allocations
- ERP and accounting system proficiency (e.g., JDE, SAP, Oracle)
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data communication abilities
