Overview

As Electrical Engineer Lead for hyper-scale data centers, you will design, implement, and maintain critical electrical systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will lead a remote-first team, collaborate with cross-functional engineers, and drive technical excellence on high-profile data center projects. Your work supports scalable infrastructure for global clients and advances cutting-edge data center technology. This role offers global collaboration with mobility within the US and potential on-site engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, including medium/low-voltage power distribution, backup power, and emergency systems
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and installation drawings
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, and other standards
  • Collaborate to develop specifications, design criteria, and project budgets
  • Analyze systems for load balance, capacity planning, and energy optimization
  • Monitor, test, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems
  • Develop electrical safety procedures and technician training
  • Stay current with advances in data center tech and propose improvements
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid-level engineers
  • Approve and sign-off on project work as Engineer of Record
  • Estimate engineering budget and schedule for large, complex projects
  • Lead technical client relationships and contribute to business development
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience in data center infrastructure
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Experience in electrical design for data centers or critical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of NEC (NFPA70) and relevant standards
