Overview As a Senior BMS/Smart Building Engineer, you lead controls design and project execution, shaping intelligent facilities. You collaborate with the ICT team to expand Syska's smart-tech services across aviation, healthcare, finance, and more. You'll manage design, vendor selection, and client relationships while guiding a cross-functional team. Responsibilities- lead the BMS consulting practice and staff
- coordinate instrumentation and controls activities
- prepare drawings, specifications and design calculations
- select and procure equipment, write reports
- assist with vendor leveling and procurement
- attend project meetings and interface with clients/contractors
- interface with PICs, PMs, site leaders, practice area leaders
- collaborate with mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams
- manage quality control and resource allocation
- support business development and client relationships
- manage project financials
- develop and maintain BMS processes and standards
- conduct performance management of direct reports
- participate in hiring activities with leadership
Key requirements- 7+ years' experience in HVAC controls as consultant, contractor, or HVAC engineer with controls design responsibilities
- THorough knowledge of HVAC/electrical instrumentation design and building control sequences
- knowledge of building IT infrastructure and low-voltage technologies, lighting control, and fire alarm systems
- understanding of smart building technology convergence and IT/OT integration
- experience with Building Analytical Software platforms for energy conservation measures
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- registered PE is a plus
- active involvement with ASHRAE, CABA is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
