Overview

In this role you lead Dewberry's NYC Water Resources group, shaping strategy and growth within the market. You'll mentor a 15-20-person team, drive business development, oversee proposals, and represent the team at conferences and with clients. You contribute to national resilience initiatives and collaborate across Northeast offices, delivering complex water resources and climate resilience projects. This is an opportunity to influence project outcomes, nurture client relationships, and help grow Dewberry's water market presence in the NYC area.

Responsibilities
  • Grow and mentor a 15-20 person water resources/coastal engineering team
  • Develop and execute strategies aligned with enterprise growth goals
  • Lead business development, opportunity capture, and proposal oversight
  • Staff project teams with appropriate skills for successful delivery
  • Manage, lead, and provide technical support on resilience and water resources projects
  • Serve as Contract Manager/Project Manager/Engineer of Record on complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Champion QA/QC for water resources and climate resilience work
  • Collaborate with other groups and national programs across regions
Key requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (emphasis in water resources/environmental) - stated as preferred
  • Professional Engineer License and reciprocity ability
  • Experience with winning proposals and client presentations in NYC
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience with H&H modeling tools (Infoworks ICM, MIKE, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM)
  • Knowledge of CFD is a plus
  • Coastal engineering knowledge is a plus
  • Clean driving record
  • Familiarity with USACE, FEMA, NYCDEP, NYSDEC standards and procedures
  • Ability to perform QA/QC using standards/checklists
