Senior Utility Contracts Manager

Overview

As Senior Manager, Utility Contracts, you own the full lifecycle of Crusoe's utility infrastructure agreements, ensuring timely delivery and compliance across our data center portfolio. You'll work closely with Real Estate, Power Engineering, Legal, and Finance to shape scalable obligation-management processes. Your expertise in utility tariffs, interconnection, and large-load obligations will guide negotiations and execution. This role offers impact across the energy-first data center strategy, partnering across teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Lead negotiation of utility infrastructure agreements (construction, operating, transfer, amendments) for new and existing data center campuses
  • Own obligation management: maintain a responsibility matrix with deadlines, owners, and status; run monthly deadline reviews
  • Ensure compliance with utility requirements and interconnection standards, translating regulations for engineering/operations teams
  • Manage customer-build programs' contractual aspects: design, procurement, commissioning, title transfer, easements, and closeout
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with EDG, Real Estate, Power Engineering, Legal, Finance, and tenants on all utility agreement touchpoints
  • Provide executive visibility on obligation status, deadlines, performance, and contract risks across portfolio
Key requirements
  • 8+ years in electric utility sector or with large-scale customers/developers
  • Strong command of tariffs, interconnection processes, metering standards, and reliability obligations (NERC/RTO/ISO)
  • Experience with EPC lifecycle: design reviews, procurement standards, commissioning, closeout
  • Proven negotiation track record with utility counterparties
  • Exceptional contract management discipline and attention to detail
  • Strong cross-functional communication translating contract language for engineers, real estate, finance, and executives
  • Location: Dallas, TX or San Francisco, CA
