Overview In this role you lead multifamily high-performance and passive house projects from design to completion, guiding sustainability and decarbonization strategies. You act as a trusted advisor to clients and cross-functional teams, applying building science to optimize energy efficiency and performance. You manage multiple projects, ensure compliance and certifications, and mentor junior staff. Responsibilities- Lead multifamily high-performance and passive house projects from design through construction completion
- Advise clients, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors on sustainability and decarbonization strategies
- Recommend energy efficiency, resiliency, and building performance improvements with engineering analysis
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring schedules, deliverables, and program requirements
- Perform design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams
- Advise on certification and incentive programs (ENERGY STAR, LEED, Passive House, Enterprise Green Communities)
- Perform energy modeling and building performance analysis
- Review construction submittals and oversee project compliance during design and construction
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance reviews of building envelope and mechanical systems
- Stay current with energy codes, standards, incentive programs, and emerging technologies
- Prepare compliance documentation and coordinate with program administrators
- Mentor junior engineers and project managers; contribute to process improvements and best practices
- Support growth of the firm's sustainability and high-performance buildings practice
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Building Science, or related discipline
- Experience managing sustainability, building performance, energy efficiency, or high-performance building projects
- Strong understanding of passive house principles, building science, energy efficiency, and sustainable design strategies
- Experience with green building certification programs (Passive House, LEED, ENERGY STAR, Enterprise Green Communities)
- Familiarity with energy modeling and building performance software (PHPP, WUFI Passive, DesignPH, SketchUp)
- Ability to review architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural documents
- Experience conducting construction inspections, QA reviews, or performance testing
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Ability to manage client relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Professional credentials such as CPHC, PE, RA, HERS Rater, Phius Verifier or similar preferred
