Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of engineering and construction projects by coordinating technical work, managing documentation, and assisting with schedule and cost control. You will serve as a liaison between design teams, contractors, and project management to drive planning, execution, and close-out. You will work to ensure quality, safety, and alignment with project goals, while offering value engineering and process improvements. This role offers a chance to influence project outcomes in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate engineering activities across design, procurement, and construction to meet scope, schedule, and budget
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation (drawings, specifications, change orders, submittals)
  • Support scheduling and planning; track progress and critical path, recommending corrective actions
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify workmanship and design intent against codes and safety standards
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues and implement design changes
  • Assist with cost control through monitoring expenditures, reviewing invoices, and identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Maintain project records and dashboards; prepare progress reports for managers and stakeholders
  • Participate in risk assessments, safety reviews, and quality assurance activities to ensure safe, compliant delivery
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years in a Project Engineer role on engineering or construction projects
  • Strong technical understanding of drawings, specs, and construction methods
  • Experience with scheduling/planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) preferred
  • Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and prioritization in fast-paced settings
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) advantageous but not required
