Overview As Account Executive Officer, National Accounts, you drive profitability and growth for a portfolio of large, complex accounts. You will underwrite and negotiate to balance risk with reward, while building trusted relationships with agents, brokers, and customers. You'll work cross-functionally to develop sales plans, identify cross-selling opportunities, and expand in markets aligned with Travelers' risk appetite. Responsibilities- Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
- Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
- Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents, brokers, and customers to market Travelers products; travel as needed.
- Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
- Develop and execute agency sales plans and partner on regional/group plans with leadership.
- May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- Six to eight years of underwriting experience with National Accounts
- Deep knowledge of loss sensitive products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market
- Deep financial acumen
- Strong critical thinking and timely decision-making aligned with risk appetite
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers
