Seeking a board certified physician assistant
Must have post-training clinical experience; no new graduates
Must have an active, unrestricted Florida physician assistant license and appropriate national certification
Reason for need: new location
Full-time, on-site opportunity
Work Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Typical patient volume: approximately 1-5 patients per day, with potential growth as the location develops
Provide care to patients with sickle cell disease in an outpatient clinic and infusion setting
Work with a physician, RN, and MA
Conduct patient evaluations, physical examinations, medication reviews, and ongoing follow-up
Collaborate with the physician to manage acute symptoms and complex chronic conditions
Evaluate patients with pain, dehydration, anemia-related symptoms, infection concerns, and medication complications
Order and review laboratory testing and diagnostic studies
Prescribe and manage medications within scope of practice, including controlled medications when appropriately authorized
Support IV hydration, medication infusions, and other outpatient treatments
Assess patients before treatment, monitor treatment response, and address adverse reactions or changes in condition
Peripheral IV and implanted-port access competency required, or willingness to complete competency validation before performing independently
Coordinate referrals and educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
During lower-volume periods, assist with patient outreach, overdue follow-ups, care coordination, documentation, and practice development
Help maintain clinical supplies, emergency equipment readiness, and safe daily clinic operations
Participate in occasional community outreach events
Some weekend needs, schedule adjustments, and participation in established after-hours response procedures may apply
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
