Availability / Schedule
Monday-Friday: 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Full-Time, On-Site
Some weekend needs, schedule adjustments, and participation in established after-hours response procedures may apply
Licensure & Certifications
Florida Physician Assistant License: Active and unrestricted - required
Board Certification: Required
BLS: Required
ACLS: Required
PALS: Required
IV/Port Access: Peripheral IV and implanted-port access competency required, or willingness to complete competency validation before performing independently
Compensation & Benefits
Annual Salary: Approximately $125,000

New Practice Location: Opportunity to help develop and establish a new outpatient practice
Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a physician, RN, and MA
Outpatient Setting: Clinic and infusion-based care
Clinical Variety: Chronic disease management, infusion services, patient education, and care coordination
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide outpatient and infusion care to patients with sickle cell disease
Conduct patient evaluations, physical examinations, medication reviews, and ongoing follow-up
Collaborate with the physician to manage acute symptoms and complex chronic conditions
Evaluate patients with pain, dehydration, anemia-related symptoms, infection concerns, and medication complications
Order and review laboratory testing and diagnostic studies
Prescribe and manage medications within scope of practice, including controlled medications when appropriately authorized
Support IV hydration, medication infusions, and other outpatient treatments
Assess patients before treatment, monitor treatment response, and address adverse reactions or changes in condition
Coordinate referrals and educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
Assist with patient outreach, overdue follow-ups, care coordination, documentation, and practice development during lower-volume periods
Help maintain clinical supplies, emergency equipment readiness, and safe daily clinic operations
Participate in occasional community outreach events
