Position Overview: MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT! The Yard Specialist at The Ironpeddlers plays a vital role in the efficient operation of the company by handling various tasks related to "Construction Equipment". From loading and unloading trucks, unloading equipment, washing equipment, PDI equipment and providing support to the service department and parts department. This position requires a valid driver's license and can serve as a stepping stone towards a technician role within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Truck loading and unloading: Safely and efficiently unload incoming trucks, inspecting and verifying the delivered equipment or materials against purchase orders or invoices.
Equipment Unloading: Assist in unloading and organizing new and used equipment from trailers or other delivery vehicles using appropriate safety procedures, tools and equipment.
Equipment Washing: Clean and wash equipment, ensuring it is presentable and in good condition for display, sale, or further processing.
Service Department Support: Assist the service department with tasks such as transporting equipment to and from service bays, providing general assistance, and performing basic maintenance tasks under supervision.
Parts Department Support: Collaborate with the parts department by locating, organizing, and retrieving parts as needed to support efficient operations.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks, such as fueling, oiling, and greasing, as directed by supervisors.
Yard Organization: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard area, including equipment storage, display, and inventory management.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating equipment, handling materials, and working in the yard or warehouse area.
Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, such as equipment checklists, inspection reports, and maintenance logs accurately and in a timely manner.
Professional Development: Seek opportunities to expand knowledge and skills related to the equipment and machinery used within the company, preparing for potential advancement to a technician role.
Requirements:
MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT ! Valid Driver's License: Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles within the premises and for occasional off-site tasks.
Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical work, including lifting heavy objects, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
Basic Mechanical Skills: Familiarity with basic mechanical concepts and willingness to learn and improve technical skills over time.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the yard area and effectively locate equipment or parts when needed.
Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety procedures and promoting a safe work environment.
Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with and support colleagues in different departments to achieve overall company goals.
Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to details, ensuring accuracy in documentation and proper handling of equipment and materials.
