We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant who enjoys analyzing financial data, understanding the story behind the numbers, and partnering with leadership to drive informed business decisions. This role goes beyond month-end close and financial reporting, serving as a key business partner to Operations, Engineering, and Leadership while helping improve financial performance across a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working in spreadsheets, collaborating with department leaders, and understanding operations on the production floor. Key Responsibilities Business Partnership & Financial Analysis - Partner with Operations leadership to analyze business performance, profitability, and financial trends. - Identify opportunities and risks impacting margins and operational performance. - Develop financial reports and analysis to support data-driven decision-making. - Identify and prioritize opportunities for operational and financial improvement. Cost Accounting & Inventory Management - Maintain and manage the standard costing system. - Analyze product costs, margins, and inventory valuation. - Support cycle counts and annual physical inventory. - Manage inventory reconciliations and excess/obsolete inventory reserve calculations. Financial Reporting & Internal Controls - Prepare and review monthly financial statements. - Complete balance sheet reconciliations. - Support financial audits and compliance requirements. - Maintain strong internal controls and ensure financial accuracy. Leadership & Continuous Improvement - Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, and Leadership teams. - Support capital investment analysis and justification reviews. - Help align financial strategies with overall business goals. - Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, reporting, and business performance. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. - Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience. - Minimum of 4 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. - Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply accounting guidance. - Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, product costing, and financial analysis. - Oracle experience strongly preferred; experience with large-scale ERP systems required. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with employees at all levels. - Strong business acumen and understanding of manufacturing operations and profitability drivers. - High level of accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
