Psychiatrist - Outpatient Behavioral Health

Location: Imperial County, California

Position: Full-Time or Part-Time

Setting: Outpatient / Hybrid Behavioral Health

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $300,000-$350,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

  • Sign-On Bonus: $30,000

  • Additional benefits and employment details are available based on the employment arrangement.

  • Full-time and part-time options may be considered.

Schedule & Work Model

  • Outpatient behavioral health setting

  • Hybrid schedule with both telepsychiatry and in-person visits

  • In-person coverage approximately 2-4 days per month

  • Remaining clinical services may be provided through telepsychiatry

  • No inpatient responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.

  • Diagnose and manage conditions including:Depression, Anxiety disorders, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, PTSD, ADHD & Other behavioral health conditions

  • Develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Initiate, adjust, and monitor psychiatric medications.

  • Provide ongoing medication-management visits.

  • Evaluate treatment response, medication adherence, adverse effects, and potential drug interactions.

  • Order and review appropriate laboratory testing and other diagnostic studies.

  • Manage patients receiving antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, stimulants, and other psychiatric medications.

  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, psychiatric NPs, therapists, social workers, specialists, hospitals, and community behavioral-health resources.

  • Assess patients for suicide risk, self-harm, violence risk, and the need for a higher level of psychiatric care.

  • Provide telepsychiatry services when appropriate.

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

  • Participate in quality-improvement and behavioral-health program activities.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.

  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency.

  • Active, unrestricted California medical license.

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.

  • Appropriate DEA registration.

  • Strong clinical skills in outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management.

  • Ability to provide effective care through both in-person and telepsychiatry visits.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
