Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef

Responsibilities:

• Assist 1st Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production
• 45 to 50 hour work week; two day off; AM, PM and weekend availability
• Supervise, train, and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control across all menu items
• Manage inventory, food ordering, and cost control to meet budgetary goals
• Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance at all times
• Assist in menu development, recipe creation, and seasonal menu updates
• Coordinate kitchen scheduling and manage labor efficiency during service

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef, or similar culinary leadership role
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary best practices
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team in a high-volume environment
• Experience with inventory management, food costing, and ordering
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food handler's certification preferred
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
