Overview In this role you will lead the architecture, administration, governance, and operational excellence of the enterprise data platform. You will partner across engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure reliable, compliant cloud-based data platforms focused on Databricks and Azure services. You will own platform reliability, security, and performance while driving modernization, automation, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping platform standards, release governance, and incident response in a large-scale environment.

Responsibilities- Lead administration, architecture, governance, and operational support of enterprise data platforms
- Manage Databricks, ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure services in production and non-production
- Own platform reliability, performance, scalability, security, and operational excellence
- Define and maintain platform standards, environment strategies, monitoring, and governance controls
- Oversee Change Management and Release Management processes, including CAB participation and deployment readiness
- Lead production support including incident, service request, problem management, and major incident response
- Perform RCA investigations and drive preventive and corrective actions
- Develop operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and disaster recovery plans
- Establish and report operational KPIs (uptime, SLA, MTTR, release success, incident trends)
- Implement CI/CD processes, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Ensure security compliance with enterprise standards, access governance, and SOX controls
- Drive platform modernization, automation, cost optimization, and continuous service improvement
- Mentor platform engineers and provide architectural direction
Key requirements- 10+ years in enterprise data platforms, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or data operations
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure data platforms in production
- Strong expertise with Databricks, ADLS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure IAM, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics
- Proven experience as Data Platform Administrator or Platform Operations Lead, not just a developer
- Working knowledge of Jenkins, Maven, Munit, Jmeter, Postman
- Experience in API management, Swagger, REST/JSON/XML
- Security experience (OAuth, SSL, SAML); CI/CD pipeline knowledge; Agile project experience
- 2-3 years of CI/CD for Mulesoft deployments using Git Actions (preferred)
