At CSG, we are at the forefront of modern smart-building technology. We design, program, and commission open-protocol, high-performance Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) across New York City's most iconic skylines, critical facility infrastructures, healthcare networks, and commercial high-rises.
Why Top BMS Engineers Choose CSG:
- Work on Premier NYC Infrastructure: Engineer complex, high-stakes central plants, data centers, and enterprise HVAC networks-not just standard plan-and-spec fit-outs.

The Opportunity
CSG is seeking a sharp, driven BMS Systems Engineer to join our New York City team. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and field execution-translating mechanical intent into robust controller logic, custom database structures, and high-end graphical user interfaces.
If you are a problem-solver who thrives on mastering complex sequences of operation, tuning digital control loops, and seeing your engineering come to life on the job site, CSG is where you belong.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Submittals: Produce detailed engineering submittals, control schematics, sequences of operation (SOO), and Bills of Materials (BOM) for mechanical engineering approvals.
- Database & Software Development: Program DDC controllers and build enterprise BMS software databases, including customized workstation graphics, trend logs, alarms, and reporting tools.
- Multi-Protocol Integration: Design, integrate, and troubleshoot network migrations across Internet, Ethernet, BACnet, and Modbus platforms.
- Field Engineering & Commissioning: Conduct site visits to validate design logic against real-world mechanical operations, supporting field technicians during functional checkouts, loop tuning, and final system handover.
- Documentation & Drafting: Maintain precise As-Built packages using AutoCAD, Visio, Excel, and Word.
- Client & Engineering Liaison: Partner directly with consulting engineers, general contractors, and facility directors to provide value engineering, solve technical roadblocks, and drive project success.
- Mentorship & Innovation: Stay current on emerging smart-building technologies while mentoring junior engineering talent within the CSG team.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in the HVAC controls, BMS, or building automation industry.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience with DDC controller programming, sequence generation, and third-party device integration (BACnet / Modbus).
- Software Proficiency: Competency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and specialized controls engineering tools.
- Field Capability: Strong grasp of mechanical systems operation, electrical schematics, and construction job-site coordination.
- Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or Green Card Holder. No sponsorship available.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with Automated Logic (WebCTRL) or major open-protocol BMS platforms.
- Background in custom energy reporting, power metering (EPMS), or energy management software integration.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills when interfacing with consulting engineers and project managers.
